Job Description

Canadian Stage, one of Canada’s leading professional non-profit theatres, is searching for a full time Company Manager to join our team. The Company Manager assists the Executive Producer with the management of the daily artistic operations of the company, including management of artistic projects, festivals, communication, audition coordination and outreach activities.   The position requires assistance/attendance at Canadian Stage sponsored events that will be held on weekends and/or in the evenings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Act as primary liaison between Canadian Stage and resident and contracted artists in season and Spotlight Festivals
  • Maintain positive and effective relations with Canadian Actors Equity Association and PACT
  • Manage artistic projects, productions, workshops, touring initiatives and outreach activities
  • Oversee logistics related to presenting, touring, producing and resident artistic activities
  • Supervise audition process, including liaising with agents, creative team, scheduling and monitoring
  • Participate in selection of interns and artistic associates in director development and company resident programs, including developing work plans and providing ongoing supervision and feedback
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications and development department on events
  • Contribute to overall success of Canadian Stage by accomplishing results as needed
  • Other duties as required.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have:
  • Post secondary degree in arts administration, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a performing arts organization
  • Understanding and familiarization with Canadian Actors’ Equity Association and Canadian Theatre Agreement
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in oral and written communications and presentations
  • Excellent organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail
  • Customer service and hospitality experience a plus
  • Strong effective interpersonal/relationship building skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines
  • Team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues and interface effectively with other departments, as well as independently as a self-starter
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • A passion for the performing arts and a desire to contribute to a vibrant Canadian contemporary performing arts organization.
