Urban Capers Scavenger Hunts
At Urban Capers Scavenger Hunts, we create historical, cultural and murder mystery scavenger hunts inside cultural institutions and around historic neighbourhoods. Our goal is to create excellent, entertaining, and educating events for: the public, school groups and team-building.
We’re looking for a candidate who can gracefully manage our fun-spirited team of hosts and (no pressure) interact positively with clients, institutional partners and current employees. This position is 35 hours per week, at our office located at the Centre for Social Innovation at Bloor and Bathurst in Toronto. The ideal candidate has an enterprising nature and a positive, professional and outgoing personality.

The Manager will:
Coordinate, supervise and control event production including creative, financial, technological and administrative
Manage, guide and motivate a small staff of creative individuals
Provide stability in an ever-changing environment
Keep existing hunts up-to-date
Manage employee schedule, timesheets and payroll
Ensure respect and recognition of staff
Ensure customer experience is paramount
Keep website and social media presence up-to-date
Manage online bookings and payments systems
Required Skills and Knowledge
Leadership skills to manage, guide, and motivate staff
Chutzpah to plan and coordinate an ambitious roster of events
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Ability to prioritize in an ever shifting environment
Excellent communication skills
Act decisively under pressure
Maintain composure and act diplomatically
Remain committed to the highest professional and ethical standards
Proficiency in, or ability to quickly pick up, apps such as PaymentsEvolution, Bookeo, Paypal, WePay, Freshbooks, and Google Drive, MailChimp, PicMonkey
Several years management experience in corporate training, events, or culture
Creative writing, historical knowledge, knowledge of diverse Toronto histories
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
Knowledge of ticket sales in the entertainment / culture industries
