LIFT requires a highly-organized film and digital technician to join the LIFT staff and to work on special equipment upgrades at LIFT. The summer Technical Assistant, Digital Interfaces will work directly with our Technical Department to develop new digital interfaces for some of our older analogue equipment. Makers, engineers and computer geeks welcome!

LIFT has a variety of older analogue machines that use digital interfaces designed on old Windows or IBM platforms. We are looking for summer interns who are interested in recoding the interfaces to newer digital software platforms to ensure this equipment is suitably future proof. Previous iterations of this position have seen interns modifying our 16mm film optical printer controller using Rasberry Pi and upgrading our 16mm/35mm Film Output Suite using Arduino.
