Organizational Overview
Pride Toronto is a not-for-profit organization that presents Pride Week, a week-long arts and cultural festival celebrating Toronto’s *LGBTTIQQ2SA communities. Job Description
The Technical Project Planner is responsible for the technical management of all stages during the Pride Toronto Festival Weekend (July 2-4) and the technical management of other events held by Pride Toronto before and during Pride Toronto week (June 25-July 1). This includes the advancing, supervision of set up/tear down and troubleshooting during the events. Pride Toronto is looking for a person who ideally has experience with outdoor festivals or something comparable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as a liaison between the Arts and Entertainment Program Manager, Site Logistics Program Manager and suppliers, artist agents/tour managers and the Pride Production Manager
• Liaise with suppliers, artists agents/tour managers
• Responsible for scheduling, administration and logistics for all technical personnel (minus Stage Managers) and equipment
• Work with the Site Logistics Program Manager to produce all technical aspects of the festival within the allocated budget
• Create a schedule in conjunction with the Site Logistics Program Manager for delivery of equipment, set up and tear down
• Supervise the delivery of equipment, set up and tear down
• Work with Production Manager to ensure he/she has all needed information for Stage Managers (especially with regards to stage plots and special requirements)

• 3-5 years experience in a similar position or related experience of 5 years
• Thorough background in all technical aspects of setting up outdoor stages as well as events held indoor
• Proven people management
• Proven negotiation experience and great communication skills
• Capacity to work well in a stressful environment
• Excellent problem solving skills and a creative spirit
• Strong team player
• Experience with purchase orders and financial reporting
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety policies
• Flexibility with hours (working weekends and evenings will required as we approach April, the required time commitment increases significantly)
