British Council & Harbourfront Centre will be facilitating discussions around human migration, culture, leadership, public policy and seeking new solutions to long-standing problems.  We have invited artists, creative thinkers, and policy makers to present on themes of migration, including climate change, identity, inclusion and courage.  There will be a series of workshops on how art can influence change through workshops focusing on literature, theatre, movement, photography and more.

We are excited to welcome workshop leaders such as Lua Shayenne, artistic director of Lua Shayenne Dance Company (LSDC) and producer of Shayenne Productions; Ross Manson, award-winning director, an actor, a translator, and the founding artistic director of Volcano; Gilad Cohen, Executive Director of JAYU, a charity that uses art to share human rights stories and more, bringing his “Am I Wrong to Love?” a portrait and story series of 20 LGBTQI+ refugees from 10 different countries.

We are also excited to welcome speakers such as Dr. Eyal Weizman, Director of Forensic Architecture, Senator Ratna Omidvar, and Indigenous author and activist Clayton Thomas-Müller.
