Description:

The Treasurer, with the assistance of a part-time administrator, and book-keeper, oversees the company’s financial accounts advising in the accurate recording of all receipts and disbursements. She oversees the deposits and disbursement of funds, safekeeping of securities and investments. She prepares and monitors annual budgets and cash flows, provides financial reports to the board and the AGM, and supervises the financial review or audit with the auditor.

Our board of 9 directors meets online monthly. The one year term runs until June 30, 2024 with renewals possible. The Treasurer meets primarily online with the administrator and book-keeper on a more regular basis to provide oversight and guidance.

Alumnae Theatre, established in 1918 by women theatre artists seeking equity in the theatre, is 99% volunteer run. With the support of 250 volunteers of all genders, we present over 80 performances between September to May, manage the historically designated former firehall at Parliament and King, Toronto, offer training and rent our venue to 20+ performing arts groups annually. All women who love theatre are welcome to become members who offer themselves leadership roles on the board of directors or committees.
