WorkInCulture (WIC) is a non-profit arts service organization founded in 1998. Our mission is to support the professional lives of artists, creative and cultural workers, and the organizations that support and engage them, through skills development, research, and career resources.
 
We are looking for volunteers, with relevant experience, to serve on our Sponsorship Committee.
 
We serve over 274, 000 people in the cultural sector, comprised of artists, creatives, and cultural workers. We serve students, emerging, mid-career, and experienced professionals from all disciplines, seeking business, leadership and management skills upgrades, sustainability and an inclusive, equitable and diverse work culture.
 
We believe that engaged and successful cultural workers contribute to happy and prosperous communities. Our vision is an inclusive arts, culture, and creative sector that contributes to the economic and social well-being of our communities. Throughout the years, WorkInCulture has been supported by funders like the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Ontario Arts Council, the Department of Canadian Heritage, and the Government of Ontario. Additionally, we have a robust earned revenue stream from sources like our popular JobBoard. Sourcing sponsorship partners is a new opportunity for us.  
 
We are looking for candidates with sponsorship experience who would enjoy helping us shape a strategy and actively participate in the implementation including making and leveraging connections and networks. You will be working with like-minded people while further developing your own sponsorship skills and contacts.

Sponsorship Committee Roles and Responsibilities  
  • Review sponsorship activities and plans and make recommendations for improvements
  • Review WIC’s mandate, offerings, and strategic plans
  • Review and tweak sponsorship packages as needed 
  • Work with staff and committee to generate prospects and leads  
  • Analyze and develop relationships with current and prospective sponsors

Committee Member Expectations  
  • Attend and participate in regular Sponsorship Committee meetings  
  • Come prepared to participate and engage  

Time Commitment  
  • 2-4 hours per month (include meeting and outreach)  
  • Attend Committee meetings (2-4/year)

  • A brief statement of interest that describes your relevant experience and what you expect to get out of the experience (maximum 1 page).
