Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education offers courses that can help you build strategies to enhance your arts management, audience engagement and sponsorship, marketing, or social media promotion to support your creative work.
 
The Chang School’s Course Series in Arts and Entertainment Administration is suitable for arts managers, potential arts managers, and individual artists. This four-course program has been designed to equip you with entrepreneurial skills to support your creative ideas. Courses are taught by seasoned professionals who work in the cultural industry and who can help you develop the confidence to build your business. Feedback from past students is that they have immediately and successfully applied their learning into projects and employment.

The following non-credit course will be offered in evening classes on campus at Ryerson University in downtown Toronto:
 
Programmatic Marketing for Arts and Entertainment (19.5 hours)
A solid marketing strategy is vital to positioning your art, creative services, or arts organization. This course is designed to teach you the most up-to-date marketing techniques for cultural industries. You will learn how to price creative products and services; identify, reach, engage, and retain an audience; identify important human and financial resources; and evaluate and improve marketing efforts. Traditional marketing techniques and strategies will also be explored.
 
Scheduling: Mondays, 6:30–9:30 p.m., January 14–March 4, 2019
 
Instructor: Victoria Barber is an experienced arts marketer and producer with a demonstrated history of working on large-scale commercial productions, new Canadian content, and site-specific theatre. She is skilled in content creation, audience development, and event management, and has developed a deep understanding of both the not-for-profit and commercial theatre landscape of Toronto and Canada. Currently the Marketing and Engagement Manager for The Musical Stage Company, Victoria has worked in partnership with a variety of organizations including Mirvish Productions, The Art Gallery of Ontario, The National Arts Centre, Canadian Stage, Theatre Passe Muraille, Yonge Street Theatricals, and The Royal Conservatory.
