Description:

RSF provides free interactive music programs to children and their families living in shelters and government-supported housing across the GTA.
 
Our goal is to nurture young families through music. We believe by giving parents the skills and tools to make music with their children, we can build family bonds, confidence and make a real difference in their lives today and in the future.

Our volunteer working Board of Directors oversees all RSF day-to-day operations, fundraising, communications and marketing activities. The RSF Foundation Director works closely with Board members to assist them in implementing RSF music programming and all Board action plans.

Contribute your skills, provide support and learn about the issues impacting young, underserved families, and collaborate with a group of motivated professionals.
 
Responsibilities & Duties

  • To support the vision and mission of RSF, to actively participate in promoting our goals
  • To commit to attending board meetings (on alternate months, 6 meetings per year) 
  • To commit to 6-8 hours per month for additional subcommittee meetings and tasks 
  • To govern the affairs of the organization on behalf of its members and to do so reasonably, prudently and in good faith in accordance with the agency’s bylaws, rules and regulations
  • To commit to a 2 year position on the board 

Experience & Skills 
 
At present, the RSF Board of Directors is looking for new members with the following skill sets. In your cover letter, please describe your experience in one or more of the following areas: 
 

  • Experience coordinating events and managing social media platforms
  • Experience in fundraising
  • Experience working with underrepresented populations in the GTA 
  • Experience working with other arts/music not for profits in the GTA 

No formal board experience is required
