WorkInCulture is pleased to announce that Service Canada, has confirmed funding for the 2013 Youth Wage Subsidy Program.

This program helps connect organizations in arts, culture, and heritage with a youth worker who is passionate about pursuing a career in the cultural sector.   Any incorporated organization in the arts, culture and heritage sector in Ontario can apply, the funding covers a 50% wage subsidy ($7,500) towards the intern’s salary.  We have funding for 10 positions. Mentor organizations will be selected based on the best training opportunities offered.

Help us train the cultural workforce of the future by applying to be a mentor today!

Mentor organizations will recruit the interns. Interns will be required to comply with the Government of Canada Career Focus Criteria: interns must be 30 years of age or less, have post secondary education, are legally entitled to work in Canada, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee status has been conferred, out of school, and not in receipt of EI benefits.

WorkInCulture has just received confirmation of this program and is working within a very short timeline. Interns must be prepared to begin work no later than January 21, 2013 and the internship will continue for 28 weeks.
