Big Kid Entertainment Inc.
Big Kid Entertainment is an acclaimed production company that specializes in educational theatre. Our curriculum themed fairy tales are designed to introduce the student audience to professional theatre. All in-school theatrical productions include grade-specific follow-up visits to the classroom(s). Created in 2004, our educational programs have been viewed by more than 2 million elementary students.

Job Description

We are contracting Actors & Teachers who have a passion for the Arts and Education. 

Selected applicants will work each day in different school boards throughout Southern Ontario, edutaining faculty and elementary students of all levels.  The tour is predominantly made up of day trips (transportation and driver are provided).

Actor/Teachers will be featured in 2 provincially acclaimed educational fairy tales.  Productions will include same-day talk backs in the classroom(s), conducted individually by the Actor (training is provided).


Non-Union Actors and/or Certified Teachers.  Age Range: 22-30(ish).  Professional experience is not a pre-requisite.  Post Secondary drama/performance training is required.  We do encourage candidates of all ethnic backgrounds to apply.

Additional Info:

Independent Contract.  4 1/2 months.  Monday-Friday (Full Time).  Approximately $550-$600 per week (no deductions at source).  Contract includes nominal rehearsal compensation (transportation and meal per diem included).

Due to the nature of the tour (early call times, tour logistics, etc.), applicants will need to reside in the G.T.A..  Overnight allowance will be provided (where applicable).

Note: selected candidates will need to provide a current police record check.
