ACTRA is a national organization representing over 25,000 professonal performers working in film, television, video and other recoreded media. ACTRA's principal role is to negotiate, enforce and administer collective agreements that guarantee performers fair compensation and equitable working conditons.

Job Description


ACTRA Performers’ Rights Society (ACTRA PRS) and ACTRA Recording Artists’ Collecting Society (ACTRA RACS) collect and distribute use-fee payments for performers appearing in film, tv, and digital media; and royalties for recording artists, including session musicians and background vocalists, for the use of sound recordings in public and radio broadcast. As a not-for-profit collective management organization, we collect and distribute payments for tens of thousands of performers in Canada and around the world each year. With our parent organization ACTRA, we protect the interests of performers and advocate for fair compensation for the use of their artistic works.
 
We are seeking a temporary full-time Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant reports to and works under the direction of the Director, ACTRA PRS and ACTRA RACS, or their designate. This is a key supportive role in a friendly, unionized work environment, working alongside a team committed to our mission and goals.
Responsibilities:
  • General correspondence
  • Generate reports and presentations
  • Administrative responsibilities such as: organizational support, maintaining filing systems, coordinating and executing mass mailings, maintaining the Director’s schedule, coordinating and booking meetings and travel
  • Initiating projects under the supervision of the Director
  • Research and process repertoire for performers registered with ACTRA RACS
  • Liaise with performers relating to their registration, and other information and paperwork as required
  • Maintain and track payment data
  • Other projects and duties generally considered to be within the job category


Requirements:

Requirements:                                                                                          
  • 5 years’ experience in an administrative role; experience in a related industry preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take initiative
  • Research, analyze and input information with speed and accuracy
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills; able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the music industry, and music rights and licensing an asset
