Job Description

Job Summary:

The Art Assistant will report directly to the Art Director and will be the liaison for the department responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects related to PI Creative Art on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications. The Art Assistant will help the Art Director establish the visual aesthetics for all releases developed by PI Creative Art with the internal team as well as through curating for PI publishing lines. The Art Assistant must have a strong design background, preferably in fashion, home décor or art, and is able to communicate their vision and ideas clearly and decisively to clients, artists, and designers.


  • Collaborate with Art Director, Clients, and Sales to explore, develop, and implement the visual style guide of all assets developed by PI Creative Art.
  • Create concept and develop artboards for internal and external artists
  • Curate new artists that fit within the PICA brand and research seasonal home décor trends and styles
  • Create development progress reports that other departments in the pipeline will use as reference.
  • Oversee delegation, and review of artwork for all local and international artists, as well as manage and negotiate contracts.
  • Conduct steps for artwork review with the Art Director, meeting the look and needs for seasonal art line. This includes properly executing changes and notes from key creative team on a project in a timely manner.
  • Training and coaching the design team to produce high-end artwork properly and on schedule. This includes establishing training materials, department procedures, helping to improve and develop tools, answering questions and working with artists to find creative solutions for problems that may arise.
  • Help to pull for Client requests to ensure all artwork ties back to design board provided.
  • Manage and maintain targets and quotas for the department.
  • Support all departments with fixes/changes and any issues that may arrive during production or client requests.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Fashion, Art, Graphic Design or equivalent professional work experience.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
  • Strong artistic skillset and ability to conceptualize in various styles.
  • Ability to iterate and create variations of various concepts.
  • Must be open to and encouraging of receiving notes and direction.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with Supervisors, Artists, Clients, and Administrative Team throughout a project.
  • Portfolio showcasing Art Direction work done in recent years.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign. Experience with other programs a plus.
