Theatre is essential to the health and growth of communities, offering insight into the human spirit. Theatre informs, educates, entertains, challenges, shocks, questions, and illuminates. Prairie Theatre Exchange (PTE) was born with these ideals in 1972, and has become a centre of excellence for contemporary theatre and drama education.

While nationally recognized, PTE is deeply rooted in community and has touched hundreds of thousands of lives in Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba. Manitobans trust PTE to ensure that full voice is given to the finest artistic talent our region and our country have to offer.

Job Description

Reporting to the Artistic Director and Managing Director, the Artistic and Operations Coordinator is a key player in ensuring timely and accurate function of day-to-day programming and administrative activities. The Artistic and Operations Coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating all rentals/residencies and seeking rental opportunities.
January 3 – June 5, 2022
22 Weeks
30 hours per week
$18 per hour + vacation pay
  • Support and assist the Artistic Director and Managing Director on any programming and/or administration activity, as directed
  • Coordinate and oversee all rental inquiries and seek out rental opportunities
  • Work with the Accountant on the accurate and timely execution of artistic payroll and contracting
  • When applicable, coordinate all aspects of travel and accommodations for out-of-town artists
  • Coordinate and facilitate General Auditions


The successful candidate is required to have the following knowledge and skills:
  • Experience working in arts administration or a similar environment
  • Experience working in theatre
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and strict time-management skills
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates active initiation of tasks and projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable meeting and interacting with new people
  • Working knowledge of CTA, PGC, ADC, IATSE
