The MADE | NOUS brand celebrates the works of Canadian creators in film, television, video games and digital entertainment, both here and around the world. Canada is home to award-winning television, movies, and special effects that have captured Canadian and global audiences, and swept box offices worldwide. We are seeking a Brand Manager to join the team in the Toronto office. Reporting to the CMF Vice President, Communications and Promotions, the ideal candidate will be creative and strategic with the capability to solve problems. As part of the CMF Marketing and Communications team, the successful candidate will be a key steward for the MADE | NOUS brand internally and externally. He or she will have mid-senior experience managing a high workload while under pressure of changing priorities. To ensure the longevity of the brand, preference will be given to candidates with strong connections in the Canadian and international screen-based sector, strong business acumen and negotiating skills. The Brand Manager will be expected to forge and manage partnerships with key industry players, including Canadian broadcasters, media development agencies, production companies, Canadian and US film and television studios, among others. Strong interpersonal and communications skills will allow the selected candidate to be successful in this role.  
 

Requirements:

Principal duties and responsibilities:
• Find, develop and manage new relationships and partnerships with key industry players to maintain the brand’s momentum and ensure its continued execution
• Deepen relationships with other professional organizations to ensure the most effective messaging and positioning of the brand
• Manage creative assets production with external service providers or internal resources and provide follow-up on all deliverables, including video assets, merchandising, giveaways and other promotional items
• Collect and analyze data in relationship to campaign and branding objectives
• Manage the development of marketing and communications tools to pitch potential new partners
• Make recommendations for all promotional activities and partnership activations to include, but not limited to, event support, multi-channel integrations, collateral development, and social media marketing
• Work with agency in charge of media placements and periodically report ROI
• Work with agencies or internal resources to develop digital storytelling strategies and execute them on the MADE | NOUS digital and social channels
• Manage public relations agencies in both English and French language markets to garner sustained media coverage for the campaign
• Monitor, review and report on brand and campaign activities, and results through key metrics and KPIs
• Manage suppliers to ensure product delivery
• Perform other duties as assigned
 
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
• A post-secondary degree, ideally within marketing, communications or related experience
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role
• Bilingualism (English and French) is required
• Extensive knowledge and ability to manage various communications channels
• Proven experience and success with creative, high-impact, national marketing strategies
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
• Proven analytical skills with a high attention to detail
• Results and solution focused
• Strong organizational skills are a must
• Knowledge of latest and most current digital and social tools
• Excellent computer skills, including use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of the television, digital media or events industries is an asset
• Experience dealing with talent agents, and/or audiovisual industry unions and guilds is an asset
• Some travel required (approx. 5%)
