Job Description

Business Development Agent is a sales support role — responsible for finding, contacting, and optimizing new opportunities for the company’s keynote speakers through consultation with corporations, associations, and meeting & event planners. It’s the perfect place to learn about the ins and outs of our business as you develop your sales skills. This job is for the engaged and engaging. The curious and the opinionated. But it’s also a tough job. You must have a proven ability to deal with large ongoing tasks, work hard, and stay focused & motivated. Exceptional communication skills are a minimum requirement. After all, your job will be to convince people to work with our agency and consider new ideas.

We need people to do market research, qualify potential clients, and pitch our speakers. You must be smart, curious, and have excellent research and communication skills. This is a full-time 3-month contract position with the possibility of ongoing full-time work upon review.

Requirements:

We’re Looking for Someone Who:
  • Is intellectually engaged (as demonstrated by education, experience, and interests) and can think on their feet
  • Has 1 to 3 years experience nurturing business relationships (in a salesy way)
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment
  • Possesses superior phone and email etiquette — a great communicator and even better listener
  • Loves research and connecting the dots, while keeping the big picture in mind
  • Is a thorough, detail-oriented problem solver

How to Apply:

The Fine Print

If you are a brilliant misfit who wants to learn how to sell big ideas, apply now!

In your cover letter, please touch on the following: What is a thought-provoking book/podcast/documentary you encountered recently? Why should I check it out?

Applications that do not include a cover letter will not be considered. I am dead serious.

We appreciate your interest however, due to the high volume of applicants, only candidates selected for interview will be contacted. As such, we are unable to entertain phone calls or office visits.
