Job Description

Jack A. Frost Ltd. has been a key player in the Canadian Entertainment Industry since 1957. It is our goal to give customers the highest quality theatrical and audiovisual products while providing full service through the installation lifecycle. Our services include sales, installation, design build, setup and rentals.
We are currently looking for applications for several casual Installation Technicians to assist with summer projects. This position is an integral part of the projects team. The qualifying candidate will be expected work on both theatrical and corporate a/v projects in an installation role. 

Individuals will be assisting on various project installations throughout the summer, and potentially into the fall, as needed. Work will typically take place Monday-Friday, though weekend calls are possible. 
Duties will be varied, and include:
  • Installation, termination and maintenance of audio, video, lighting and rigging systems
  • Installation, termination and maintenance of networked audio-visual systems and racks, including Crestron equipment
  • Work alongside other team members to accomplish the project with respect and a cooperative spirit
  • Use of drills, bandsaws, and other handheld power tools
  • Working on an elevated platform (scaffolding, scissor lift, ladders, etc.)
  • Uphold our company’s commitment to the highest standard of service
  • Report to management regarding daily on-site activities
  • Execute installation tasks as directed by the Project Coordinator


The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities:
  • Completed, or in progress, Degree/Diploma in the field of Theatre Technology or AV including: audio and lighting systems; knowledge of rigging systems and principles; AV and networking
  • Experience with theatrical or AV equipment in an installation role
  • Experience with cable terminations and/or soldering
  • Must be comfortable working at heights
  • Ability to work alongside others as part of a team
  • Demonstrates autonomy and a sense of responsibility
  • Good priority management and respect for deadlines 
  • Availability to work extended hours, with tight deadlines
  • Vehicle and valid G driver’s license an asset
  • Working at Heights certificate an asset

This position reports to the Project Coordinator, Theatre Technology Division.
