Organization Description

DramaWay provides a creative outlet for both young and old. Using dramatic techniques, participants are led down the paths of discovery. Participants are given the opportunity to engage in drama and other art forms. DramaWay places emphasis on the process of creation, and the experience of the journey. At DramaWay, we believe that drama allows everyone the opportunity to connect with others in their community, and to learn about themselves while doing so. Our programs aim to promote social development, enhance self-esteem, and improve communication. We recognize the importance of creative stimulation to the well-being of all individuals. Our mission is to share our passion for the arts by providing structured sessions and workshops focused on creative expression.

Job Description

DramaWay is in urgent need of additional Creative Assistants/Support Staff for our Bloor West,  Mississauga and Halton Locations.

We can hire a different person or the same person for each of these locations depending on interest an experience, it does not have to be the same Person.

We run our Social & Life Skills every other Friday in Mississauga and the shifts would be 545-815 pm approx (times may alter depending on the date).  The Mississauga location is focused primarily on working with youth and adults and teaching them social and life skills. 

Our Halton location shift would be 430 - 615 pm (times may vary depending on dates.  You would work alongside our DramaWay Head Facilitator to support our programming.  Our Halton program is focused more focused on teaching Drama/ Theatre from a processed based approach.  

This program runs out of the Swansea Town Hall Community Centre at 95 Lavinia in Bloor West.
The shift would be Saturdays now until June of 2020 for approx 27 weeks. Shift would be from 230-4 pm as the class is only 1 hour. You'd be working alongside our Dance Facilitator to support this program.  It is a performance based dance program where the group works on high level choreography. The Assistant would be there to support any issues that arise with the Dancers and support the Teacher as needed.

Youth & Adults of All Abilities attend all of the above programs, so anyone with interest or background in teaching and/or the arts is an asset.

Those interested must send in at least a 1-2 minute video introducing yourself and let us know why you want the job.

It's crucial that you are available on Tuesdays if you want the Halton position and if you are interested in the Mississauga position, you will need to be available every other Friday evening. For the Dance Assistant you'd need to be available on Saturdays 230-4 pm. Keep in mind, you do not have to be available for all 3. 

Police Check and Vulnerable screening check must be up to date.
