ROLE STATEMENT

Summary of Function:

Bonus points if you have experience in arts beyond sponsorship, or knowledge of the Nordic cultural sector.

In 2021, Canada will be the host country for the Nordic Cultural Initiative initiated by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Harbourfront Centre is the lead organization on this initiative.

In partnership with arts organizations across Canada, Nordic Bridges will include multidisciplinary programming and cultural conversations in cities including Halifax, Iqaluit, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver.

The Development Manager for Nordic Bridges is responsible for program funding for the Nordic Bridges Project.

DUTIES
  • Research
  • Grant Writing
  • Prepares proposals, reports and letters
  • Prepares plans and projections to assist in identifying priorities
  • Liaises with Nordic Bridges program managers
  • VIP event support

  • Other duties as assigned

  • All staff are required to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of other personnel (including volunteers and interns) who may be affected by their conduct.


Requirements:

Skills & Requirements
Essential Criteria
  • 4 years in development, corporate partnerships, diplomatic relations, or project/event management; or a mix of experience with a strong written case
  • Superior communication skills, verbal and written
  • Knowledge of government grant structure and corporate community engagement
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Experience in managing both the political and bureaucratic levels of government and comprehensive knowledge of government process an asset
  • Basic accounting/ financial understanding, budgeting experience  
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets and database)
Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge of Nordic artistic and cultural sector
Working Conditions
  • Job may involve evening and weekend hours, as well as some travel
