Dancer Transition Resource Centre
Founded in 1985, the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) is the only organization in Canada dedicated to helping dancers make necessary transitions into, within, and from professional performing careers. Since its inception, the DTRC has assisted over 10,000 professional dancers and provided more than $4 million in retraining grants, subsistence and a full range of academic, career, financial, legal and personal counselling referral services. With offices in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver and regional representatives across the country, the DTRC works towards increasing public awareness of dancer transition and enhancing the socio-economic conditions of artists nationwide.

Position available: The Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) is seeking a passionate, motivated and experienced individual to direct the organization’s membership services. Working collaboratively with the Executive Director, the Director of Member Services will be responsible for administering various aspects of the organization’s membership programs within the set guidelines/policies. Strong French language skills are required.
  • Manages member and non-member correspondence and inquiries           
  • Liaises with DTRC regional offices and representatives on member issues
  • Processes DTRC member grant applications – including:
    • Ensuring all grant application materials are complete
    • Researching and procuring career advisors for grants
    • Administering contracts including performing data-entry
  • Manages all counselling inquiries/referrals
  • Researches and approves new counsellors for DTRC roster where needed
  • In coordination with Director of Administration, processes Dancer Award Fund and Skills grants, and counselling payments
  • Administers membership and dance company outreach, tracking and reporting
  • Generates statistics related to member service history for government funders



The successful candidate will:
  • Have an interest in, and understanding of, professional dance from a range of dance practices and cultures, particularly within equity seeking groups
  • Communicate and listen with clarity, compassion and sensitivity
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and possess the ability to foster strong internal and external relationships
  • Have significant experience with database and information technology management
  • Possess project management expertise with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Have excellent English and French verbal and written communication skills
