Under the supervision of the President Sales & Integration, the incumbent will be responsible for leading and managing the Toronto Sales Team for the Sales and Integration Division, including developing and implementing strategic initiatives, and maximizing all available resources to achieve and exceed objectives within the sales plan. Through his leadership and guidance, the incumbent will participate in setting the overall direction for the development the Sales Team by motivating and directing his employees to achieve the best results, and will drive continuous process improvement. 

Key Responsibilities:
 

Sales Development:

  • Develop guidelines and sales strategies for the Toronto office (Sales and Integration Division) to maintain and grow the company’s market share;
  • In collaboration with management, participate in the development and implementation of the division’s business plans;
  • In collaboration with his superior, set annual sales and profitability objectives and implement an action plan;
  • Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information, identify business opportunities and trends that affect current and future sales growth;
  • Participate in providing recommendations to support and develop the division’s marketing and communication strategies;
  • Improve existing sales management tools and develop processes, reports and tools that will help the division achieve sales objectives;
  • In collaboration with his superior, review pricing strategies and sales policies;
  • Meet with representatives and potential clients and execute sales activities for major accounts;
  • Assist sales personnel with establishing client relationships and report on progress with key stakeholders;
  • In collaboration with his team, prepare various presentations and technical specifications for existing and prospective clients;
  • Ensure the effective management of the sales territories, manage and assign market sectors and/or product lines to the sales team to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives;
  • Conduct regular meetings with the sales and technical support staff to identify and resolve any issues;
  • Participate in technical demonstrations of new products;
  • In collaboration with the procurement team, develop strategic alliances with various suppliers to increase our competitiveness;
  • Analyze sale results and implement appropriate solutions to resolve variances;
  • Perform a monthly review of sales objectives and presentation expenses in accordance with authorized budgets;
  • In collaboration with the finance team, optimize budget monitoring of the business unit’s projects to achieve corporate objectives;
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners and clients, monitor and resolve issues related to the products and services sold;
  • Work closely with the Technical Manager and his team to ensure the optimal delivery of projects sold by the sales team;
  • Ensure the successful achievement and optimization of sales, profit and market share objectives by negotiating key account agreements;
  • Promote/sell orders to existing and prospective clients through a relationship-based approach centred on presenting innovative technological solutions.

Assignment & HR:

  • Manage, support and coach employees in their daily duties;
  • Build and develop a sales team based on performance and growth targets;
  • In collaboration with the HR department, participate in the planning of the human resources and the training requirements needed for upcoming projects;
  • Participate in the hiring and integration of new employees, perform follow-up and annual reviews in collaboration with the HR department;
  • Act as a person of resource for employees in the interpretation and application of working conditions, policies, programs, and internal processes;
  • Establish and maintain accountability on all levels;
  • Maintain positive employee relations and work environment.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in administration, marketing or any other relevant field;
  • 10 to 15 years of related experience in sales and business development and at least 8 years of experience in managing a sales team. Knowledge of the audiovisual and integration industries would be an asset;
  • Ability to set and achieve measurable and profitable results;
  • Excellent sales skills and experience in developing sales strategies and new markets;
  • Proven experience in project monitoring and change management;
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships to deal effectively with all levels of an organization;
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CRMs;
  • Ability to travel (as required);
  • Strong leadership, excellence in managing personnel, ability to develop, train, motivate and empower teams to achieve goals through teamwork;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Extensive face-to-face customer experience and strong customer service skills;
  • Demonstrate highly competitive nature and persistence to drive results;
  • Ability to establish and leverage strong internal and external partnerships to facilitate goal achievement;
  • Ability to influence through multiple approaches, by leveraging personality/style differences and utilizing strong negotiation skills.
