Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra
The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra has a performing season of 31 weeks with a professional core of 30 musicians supported by an administrative staff of 3 fulltime and 8 part time positions. The 2020-2021 season will be the orchestra's 60th anniversary.
Thunder Bay is proud of it's orchestra and it's world class 1,500 seat performing hall- the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium.

The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra invites applications for
Executive Director/General Manager
One of Canada’s finest regional orchestras, the Juno-nominated Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra is seeking an Executive Director/General Manager to lead it to the next level of artistic and organizational excellence.



In addition to providing hands-on leadership and oversight to daily operations and finance, our new ED/GM will be an effective communicator and consensus builder, enhancing vital partnerships within the community. Key indicators of success will include: maintaining positive working relationships with government funding agencies, (federal, provincial and municipal), building support from private foundations and individual donors, increasing concert and special events attendance, developing a network of support from the business and corporate sector, and designing, in collaboration with the Board and other stakeholders, the strategic direction of the organization.
Our new ED/GM will have demonstrated leadership abilities in complex organizations, will possess exceptional organizational capabilities with highly collaborative and respectful interpersonal and communication skills. He or she will possess a sound understanding of the business community, have significant experience in the arts or not-for-profit sector and have a deep appreciation for orchestral music
