OVERVIEW/PURPOSE
 
Artscape's Fund Development Department delivers a suite of integrated annual and capital campaigns that raise vital contributions in support of creative placemaking projects, programs and services. The Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for the core administration of the Toronto Artscape Foundation and supports all aspects of its revenue generation strategies including: designated major gifts, grants and sponsorships; an undesignated annual giving campaign; three annual signature fundraising events, and a series of additional cultivation and stewardship receptions.
 
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Institutional Giving & Donor Relations, the Fund Development Coordinator will collaborate closely with all fellow members of this lean, four-person team and contribute to cross-departmental project teams as requested.
 
This position is ideal for an emerging professional eager to build a career in arts administration and fundraising in support of Canada's leading creative placemaking practitioner. The successful candidate will be based at our head office at Artscape Daniels Launchpad and have unique access to networking and professional development opportunities offered in the space.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising & Team Administration (50%)
  • Coordinate the core administration of the Toronto Artscape Foundation and Fund Development team, including through efficient processing of all gift transactions and prompt stewardship of all donors
  • Maintain accurate records in our Salesforce constituent relationship management (CRM) platform, including by:
    • Processing financial contributions and receipts
    • Keeping records of online and print donor recognition
    • Ongoing data collection and maintenance 
    • Supporting departmental evaluation and reporting strategies
    • Lead the tracking of all Fund Development team revenue against goals
    • Ensure timely payment of pledges
    • Producing monthly reconciliation reports working alongside the finance team
    • Manage and update tax receipt dashboards and compile monthly donation and receipting reports
  • Manage and ensure accuracy of all contact and donation records, contact lists, and prospect lists
Fundraising & Stewardship (20%)
  • Identify, solicit and secure grants, sponsorships and donations from $5,000 - $25,000
  • Manage the organization’s staff fundraising appeal
  • Serve as primary point of contact, and steward day-to-day and reporting relationships for Toronto Artscape Foundation contributions below $25,000
  • Write proposals and reports for donors as requested
  • Support the cultivation, acquisition and retention of donors, sponsors and grants through prospect ID, research and stewardship plan implementation
Senior Volunteer & Board Coordination (15%)
  • Support the administration of Artscape’s Campaign Cabinet, a group of senior volunteers, in contributing to fundraising goals
  • Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with members of the Toronto Artscape Foundation Board of Directors and its volunteer sub-committees
Events (10%)
  • Support the execution of special events including creative-black-tie gala fundraisers, as well as cultivation and stewardship events and receptions
Other (5%)
  • Be an informed member of the Fund Development team and make creative connections between and among people, events and programs and their associated circles to increase revenue, donor and sponsor bases
  • Participate in the planning of annual and longer-term fund development strategies
  • Assist Director of Fund Development with departmental work plans
  • Maintain a high degree of motivation, work ethic and attention to detail, consistent with the culture of the Fund Development team


Requirements:

Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree or community college diploma and/or at least two years employment in a relevant field
  • Hands-on practical experience in fundraising a definite asset
  • Demonstrated project and event coordination expertise
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office
  • Experienced in relational databases and/or CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce
  • Proven track record working with senior volunteers
