Tirgan is a multidisciplinary Canadian art and culture charity recognized as a cultural anchor for the Iranian-Canadian community in Canada and across the globe. Over the years, our impact has been substantial on many levels. Our signature festivals have become the world's largest Iranian art and culture celebrations and a popular meeting point for the best local and international talents presenting Iranian cultural programs. Our festivals are held in multiple prestigious locations in Toronto, such as the Harbourfront Centre, the Distillery Historic District in downtown Toronto, and TO Live venues in downtown and North York. These events attract over 150,000 visitors from within Canada and worldwide, 250+ artists, and include 140+ performances, talks, presentations, and workshops.



Job Description

Tirgan Centre for Art & Culture is looking to hire a full-time Fundraising Officer with a one-year contract starting from June 15, 2022 to June 15, 2023 with a possibility of being a permanent position. Under the supervision of the CEO and Management Team, the candidate contributes to the planning and implementation of private sector partnership and fundraising strategy to help us grow our income across different streams. We are looking for an outstanding fundraiser with previous experience in a non-profit setting who is organized and committed to helping us meet our financial goals to support Tirgan’s mission.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop, plan and implement fundraising communications strategy in cooperation with Sr. Management in line with Tirgan’s strategic plan and vision
  • Develop, negotiate and manage private sector partnerships and sponsorships
  • Manage digital fundraising activities across all channels and plat-forms, from initial brief to final delivery
  • Develop an annual fundraising communication plan
  • Develop a strategy for prospecting, including analyzing new markets, new donors, and new network-building opportunities
  • Monitor allocation of budget across all digital marketing/fundraising channels; use analysis to recommend improvements and maximize results
  • Assist in managing contributions and monitoring the flow of donations
  • Evaluate fundraising activities and provide recommendations
  • Plan, implement and manage fundraising activities for in-person festivals
  •  Work with Funding Committee to build relationships with key individuals
  • Participate in the funding landscape and cultivate opportunities from networking with prospects and existing supporters
  • Build partnerships with NGOs, philanthropic organizations, trusts, and foundations to enhance our fundraising portfolio
  • Create and maintain a database for all fundraising campaigns
  • Keep up-to-date Salesforce prospects and donors list
  • Prepare and facilitate one to one meetings, calls, presentations, and other meaningful interactions with private sector prospects, donors, and sponsors
  • Proactively stay up-to-date with fundraising trends and areas of opportunity
  • Skilled in targeted cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of key major donors and prospective donors.
  • Ensure stewardship and engagement opportunities are planned throughout the year for donors and prospects
  • Recruit and manage fundraising volunteering team to meet the targets and KPIs set out by the organization’s strategy
  • Overseeing the fundraising procedures and reporting to CEO and management team


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in communications and proposal writing
  • Proven track record in managing fundraising campaigns and securing 7 figure investments from partners and donors
  • Expert in planning and execution of digital fundraising campaigns 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships with colleagues, volunteers, suppliers
  • Skilled in budget planning, analysis, valuation, tracking, and report-ing for fundraising strategies
  • Knowledge of CRM such as Salesforce, digital marketing platforms, and tools including SEO/SEM, email marketing, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, social media, digital and traditional advertising
  • Advanced communication skills, including active listening skills and excellent fundraising copywriting Excellent command of English written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated
  • Ability to review priorities, meet deadlines and identify problems and resolutions
  • Proficient skills and experience in working on MS Office
  • Knowledge of the French language is desirable
