One of Toronto's oldest private galleries exhibiting fine art and contemporary craft.

Job Description

The Gallery seeks an individual with high-end retail sales and very strong computer/data entry experience for a part-time customer facing position. You will be responsible for assisting customers and making sales, as well as receiving and processing incoming artwork and fine crafts. As the ideal candidate, you are a self-confident art enthusiast who possesses exceptional attention to detail, is highly organized and has strong interpersonal skills. Weekend availability is a requirement.

- Provide exceptional customer service in person, by phone and electronically
- Receive and process incoming and outgoing artwork using a specialized database
- Upload and maintaining an e-commerce enabled website
- Photograph and process incoming artworks (2D & 3D)
- Prepare digital placements for clients using Photoshop
- Create Gallery signage
- Organize, clean and maintain the Gallery, and stored works of art
- Safely handle artworks weighing up to 40lbs on and off-site
- Provide framing & ketubah consultations (training will be provided)

- Other duties as assigned


Essential Qualifications:
- Post secondary education (diploma or degree in arts related field preferred)
- High-end sales and customer service experience, including visual merchandising
- Experience with data entry and inventory management systems
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work to deadlines, independently and as part of a team
- Strong proficiency in Office, Google Apps, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of fine art and commercial gallery work
- Digital photography and editing skills
- Familiarity with FileMaker, Shopify, Mailchimp, Instagram and Facebook
