Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
  
The Graphic and Digital Designer serves as project lead and subject matter expert on all creative and design initiatives for Canadian Stage. The successful candidate must be able to effectively manage multiple projects to produce high-quality marketing and communication materials.
 
 JOB DUTIES
 
  • Leverage strong design skills and knowledge to conceptualize, create and deliver a variety of high-impact, on-brand visual marketing, and corporate communications materials in digital and print format including, but not limited to, marketing materials and ads, websites, social media, fundraising materials, and video assets.
  •  Oversee digital and print projects from conception to delivery, including working with external vendors, and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  •  Create and maintain all branded print and digital documents, and templates.
  •  Maintain visual brand standards manuals and ensure the correct application of brand standards & guidelines across all print, web, and digital design materials.
  •  Provide proofreading and brand consistency checks for all materials.
  •  Ensure communications and information design meet requirements and best practices in maintaining and exceeding AODA standards.
  •  Collaborate on the design and creation of landing pages and microsites, as required, aligned with brand design standards.
  •  Create and edit promotional videos and support other teams with video creation, ensuring they are brand compliant and, as needed, work with external video production vendors to execute video creation.
  •  Develop and maintain the systematic organization of all digital files and assets, including image and video libraries, ensuring that they are easily searchable and media consent permission records are kept.
  •  Use current best practices, sources appropriate imagery for all creative projects (annual reports, brochures, websites, social channels, newsletters, etc.), and handle media consent permissions and licensing requests.
  •  Other duties as required.


Requirements:

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
 
  • You likely have a post-secondary education, perhaps in graphics or digital-based design.
  • You have tested and tried your design skills through at least a few years (3-5+) of work experience with other businesses or organizations, with expert knowledge and technical skills in key design software including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
  •  Creative thinker who can identify high-impact design solutions
  •  Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  •  Advanced web and digital front-end design, skills in video creation, animation, social graphics, etc.
  •  Solid knowledge of principles of organizational branding, print production processes, design industry trends, and innovations
  •  Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  •  Advanced communication skills
  •  Asana or similar project management software experience is a plus
