Job Description

The Marketing Coordinator role is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing.  The Marketing Coordinator is a member of the Marketing and Communications team responsible for Soulpepper’s brand presence, sales, and audience development. The Marketing Coordinator will be involved in supporting and executing the company’s multi-platform marketing initiatives, with a specific focus on digital marketing, including emails, website, and social media.  The Marketing Coordinator will also work to build and maintain the website and social media presence of Soulpepper’s joint venture, the Young Centre for the Performing Arts.

Key Results & Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the organization’s Marketing & Communications activities
  • Manage and execute the company’s regular marketing emails
  • Maintain the company’s website
  • Plan and execute a robust social media presence
  • Manage graphic design layout for digital platforms
  • Contribute creatively to the department’s marketing and communications plans
  • Support community outreach and audience development strategies
  • Other duties as may be required


  • A passion for the performing arts
  • Proficient use of graphic design programs, such as InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
  • Understanding of social media platforms for promotions, engagement, and marketing
  • Comfortable with the technical requirements of updating websites using a Content Management System and basic HTML
  • Experience deploying email campaigns, audience segmentations, and list management
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, tact, and diplomacy
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines
  • Interest in community engagement and audience development
  • Basic knowledge of Tessitura or other CRM an asset

Additional Info:

  • Post-secondary degree in arts administration, marketing, or a related field, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6 months - 2 years experience in a comparable role
  • Annual range of $38,000-$42,000, depending on experience
  • Upon the successful completion of a 3 month probationary period; 15 vacation days; comprehensive benefits package including an Employee Assistance Plan
 Working Conditions:
  • Performs most duties in a regular office environment
  • Must be available to work regular office hours however, due to the nature of the performing arts environment, some work will occur outside of regular hours including evenings and weekends
