Job Description

Position: Marketing Consultant
Hours: 15 hours per week
Location: Work from home within Ontario (travel required)
Salary: $30/hr
 
The Ontario Book Publishers Organization is seeking a Marketing Consultant to promote the 49th Kids and the 49th Teachers website to teachers and teacher-librarians in Ontario from January 2019 to February 2020, with the strong possibility of contract renewal.
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Creation of a monthly newsletter
  • Creation of a social media campaign
  • Creation of marketing copy and editorial content, including overseeing the creation of monthly blog posts
  • Coordination of print and online advertising
  • Presentations to English-language school boards in Ontario
  • Presentations at educational conferences
  • Presentations at Ontario’s faculties of education
  • Contacting educators and school boards across Ontario


Requirements:

The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience in marketing, ideally including children’s books, as well as experience in marketing to educators, will be pro-active, have exceptional communication skills and the ability to take initiative and work independently.

Additional Info:

The Marketing and Education Consultant will be required to work independently from their home office, reporting to the OBPO Executive Director and an advisory committee. Some travel and attendance at meetings and other events will be required.
