Job Description

Are you a recent university or college graduate interested in the creative sector? Creative Industries North Bay Inc. seeks a Marketing & Research Intern who is eager to build partnerships, support and grow our local creative sector. 
 
Within the means and resources of the organization, the successful applicant is responsible for the development and implementation of new marketing strategies and researching the creative sector in collaboration with the staff and Board of Directors to achieve the organization’s vision and goals. This position also requires the successful applicant to participate in the Economic Developers Association of Canada certificate (EDAC). A great opportunity for anyone looking to gain a broad knowledge base in economic development.
 
Marketing - Develop and implement new and effective marketing strategies to promote the creative sector and communicate its vital connection to a thriving and prosperous community.

Research - Assist the Executive Director in creative sector research, working closely with partnering organizations, identified arts service organizations and investors and establishing new and valuable connections.

Selected Responsibilities

Marketing:

  • Research current social media based community marketing tools (facebook, instagram, etc) and strategize best practices for Creative Industries
  • Develop marketing strategies for Creative Industries to effectively promote North Bays art sector
  • Develop and build stronger audience base and engagement
  • Collect measurables / impact of marketing campaign to rate success (i.e. audience growth, community awareness, more frequent organizational communication, cross-promotion)
Research:
  • Analytic techniques for local economic development for future implementation
  • Effective models for community economic development: Northeastern, Canadian and international based
Assist Research work of Executive Director in:
  • Micro-granting models, investment streams and impact of successful community granting bodies
  • Compiling information on economic impact of North Bays creative sector
  • Relevant data measurement and comparative tools, growth patterns and funding opportunities for economic impact database platforms 


Requirements:

Qualifications
  • Recent graduate in Public Relations, Economic Development, Graphic Design, Marketing, Business or any related field
  • Passion and interest in the creative sector
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and techniques
  • Market analysis & research skills 
  • Experience with content creation and graphic design
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data collection
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and administration skills
  • Experience with analytic reporting tools and metrics
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
