Job Description

Music in the Morning (MITM) is seeking a Operations Manager to maintain day to day operations of one of Vancouver’s most successful music presenting organizations. Overseeing the general business affairs of MITM, the Operations Manager will be a future-looking, energetic, and highly-organized individual experienced in arts management including administration, communications, artist services, board management, and fundraising.  Reporting to the Executive Artistic Director, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:

1. Overseeing and managing all day to day business affairs including contracts with artists and outside consultants and vendors, and staff.
2. Ensure the highest quality of concert operations including overseeing all production staff and activities, artist services and co-ordination, ticketing and patron services. 
3. Working closely with the Executive Artistic Director in advancing the education and outreach mission of MITM, specifically in building community partnerships and audience development.
4. Provide regular administrative assistance to the Executive Artistic Director including research, administrative support, board liaising, artist liaising, etc.
5. Provide support to the Board of directors, including compiling Board meeting agendas, attending all Board meetings to record and distribute minutes; scheduling, Board communications and coordination, etc.
6. Research and write grant applications, identifying opportunities and strategies for success, developing and maintaining relationships with granting organizations.
7. Provide assistance with fund and sponsor development, including individuals, corporations, and foundations. Assistance includes but is not limited to establishing and maintaining communications, cultivation, and stewardship.
8. Event planning, including MITM’s major annual fundraiser, volunteer acknowledgement events, annual AGM, stewardship events, etc.
9. Work closely with accountant to ensure timely and accurate accounting and budgeting.
10. Manage MITM’s significant and important volunteer program, ensuring excellent recruiting, training, and service.
11. Fundraising, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals, corporations, foundations, and government granting bodies
12. Managing the budget and ensuring the fiscal health of the organization 
13. Attendance at all concerts and special events


Bachelor's degree or other applicable diploma 
5-6 years in administrative role
