Etobicoke Centennial Choir

Etobicoke Centennial Choir (ECC) is an audtioned adult mixed-voice (SATB) community choir which performs three (3) times annually in Toronto. We aspire to enrich the cultural life of the community by promoting and sharing the glorious and uplifting experience of fine choral music.

ECC provides a welcoming choral community where amateur singers can grow musically and enjoy performing together. We collaborate with other performing arts groups, and share our music through community service outreach performances. We promote choral works by Canadian composers and offer performance opportunities to local musicians, particularly emerging young performers.  

Music Director Henry Renglich begins his twelth year with the choir, and readily shares his talents and knowledge with choristers and audience members alike. 

Job Description

Etobicoke Centennial Choir is seeking TENOR and BASS SECTION LEADS (Paid) –

The Etobicoke Centennial Choir (ECC)
• Is an auditioned community choir now in its 55th season and is under the direction of Music Director Henry Renglich 
• Features a diverse repertoire ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions and popular music. 
• Rehearses and performs in Etobicoke, at the Humber Valley United Church at 76 Anglesey Blvd, (in the Islington & Rathburn Road area, TTC accessible)
• Rehearses on Tuesday evenings, 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm, September through May
• Performs three concerts per season
Current plans for the 2021 – 2022 season, subject to public health and government guidelines: 
o Virtual Rehearsals on Tuesday evenings, beginning in mid-September
o In-person rehearsals beginning in November
o Concerts on April 9, 2022 and June 11, 2022


Section Leads are:
• To lead their section through example and advice
• To be prepared to conduct warm-up exercises as requested
• Required to have excellent sight-reading skills and be experienced with choral music;  must have a good 'ear'; vocal training preferred
• Required to attend all scheduled Tuesday evening rehearsals
• Required to participate in all Saturday concerts as well as dress rehearsals on the Friday evenings preceding concerts
