Job Description
SOUNDTRACK CATALOGUING CO-OP

Film Reference Library
The FRL has a collection of roughly 3,000 Film Soundtracks on LP that we’ve been collecting since 1990. Many of these LP’s are only partially catalogued and require full cataloguing in order to be published to our online database.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Film Reference Library, the student will assist with rehousing, numbering, assessing condition, and cataloguing our collection of LP’s.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for safely handling archival materials and rehousing in appropriate archival enclosures.
- Required to follow Library of Congress Subject Headings and internal cataloguing standards when entering information in excel docs for upload to database.
- Responsible for accurately recording accession numbers on objects and in catalogue records, and tracking object locations.
- Responsible for search of online and internal databases for film titles, dates, and relevant people and places.

Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience handling and cataloguing archival materials
- Experience implementing cataloguing standards, classification systems and controlled vocabularies
- Experience in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research
- Ability to follow instructions and receive feedback
- Interest in / knowledge of cinema is considered an asset
