Senior Designer

Moss and Lam is an Internationally renowned art studio that creates hand produced custom artworks, large-scale bespoke wall surfaces, 3-Dimensional art installations, as well as furniture and accessories for international hospitality and retail luxury brands.

Your skills as Senior Designer are full spectrum from design to production and from analogue to digital. You are as comfortable with pencil, pen and ink, watercolour thumbnail sketches as you are with digital transition of sketches into Adobe Creative Suite 2D and 3D programs such as AutoCAD and Rhino. You are not afraid of pressure or deadlines and are ready to take on any task to get the job done.   

Your disposition is energetic, hard-working, sunny, team player, articulate, open, aesthete, 
self-initiator, excellent communicator and excited about materials.

You can project lead/manage, collaborate, work at a fast pace, go with the flow, crash and burn and then pick yourself up again, smile, laugh and eat donuts.

 Day to day you will: 
• Support the Principal and/or other Project Managers in interpreting/developing concepts that meet the client brief and budget; 
• Provide inspiration and artistic vision to the design team 
• Participate in general business development activities, marketing, and creative assignments; 
• Develop artwork concepts on computer and or by hand; 
• Oversee and compile proposal packages in InDesign; 
• Work with Subcontractors and studio artists for production as well as monitor quality and aesthetic direction; 
• Oversee quality of sample requests, production and delivery; 

Skills and ability you should excel at: 
• 5 + years of professional experience working for an architecture, interior design firm, other creative department, and/or studio environment; 
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp, and AutoCAD; 
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings; 
• Experience in hand drawing, photography, Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Rhino3D and other design or modeling software is an asset; 
• Ability to think strategically, as well as visually 
• Excellent organizational, time management, communication and problem-solving skills; 
• Excellent attention to detail; 
• Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines; 
• Strong verbal & written communication skills in English; 
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and team-player attitude.
