Canada Fun and Multicultural Education Center is a non-profit organization which aims to promote fun and multicultural education in Canada. We provide a range of services to students and schools by offering fun and multicultural alternative curriculums.  We introduce children of all ages to the fun and educational alternative curriculums, and provide schools and teachers various kinds of services at more affordable prices. Students will be simultaneously developing their academic skills, intellectual reasoning skills, character and intercultural understanding while having fun!

Canada Fun and Multicultural Education Center is looking for Senior Drama / Music theatre teachers & Co-Directors for young kids to work in Beijing / Dalian, China. Our Chinese partner has worked with the Chinese school board on the musical theater programs for more than two years.
 
Period: February 2020 ~ January 2021
Compensation: CAD $ 3000 ~ $4000 monthly+ final bonus
  • Round-trip airfare, basic travel and health insurance provided

You will have different culture, directing, travel experience!

Job Description:
  • Working with the public and private school systems for 30 hrs/week in Beijing / Dalian, China
  • Plan, organize and facilitate music / drama classes for children ages 3 - 15 (separated by age)
  • Working with a provided curriculum, create scripts and class outlines that are appropriate for each age group
  • Scripts should include all three elements of musical theatre - singing, dancing and acting
  • Teach basic theatre and performance skills, basic singing, dancing and acting through exercises and games
  • Rehearse performance to attend drama competition show or ensure a successful final show
  • Co-Directing the formal Children Musical (about 1-hour show) with Chinese professional team (refer the Mulan Musical link for the previous formal Musical)
  • Attend weekly meetings to debrief and assess students' progress
  • Ensures all children programs provide quality care, service and support to the participants and their families.


Requirements:

Qualifications
  • Must have College diploma or Bachelor degree (related major) for applying Chinese Working Visa
  • With enthusiasm, passion, and professionalism
  • Minimum 2 years' experience teaching and working with children
  • No certain Background required, do prefer theatre and performance, music, vocal, early childhood education experience
  • Ability to adapt Canadian teaching styles to suit students with varying levels of English comprehension
  • Willingness to learn about and adapt to a new working culture
  • Prefer related degree, diploma, or equivalent training
  • Original Police check required
