Job Description

CMU College is seeking is a highly motivated, creative individual with digital marketing experience and a passion for connecting with current and future post-secondary students. The Social Media Marketing Manager will administer the company’s social media marketing and advertising. Key functions of the role include:
  • Supporting the College’s marketing activities and brand profile through judicious use of social media and online advertising
  • Deliberate planning and goal setting and implementation
  • Development of brand awareness and online reputation
  • Content management
  • SEO (search engine optimization) to enhance and maintain website position in organic search and generation of inbound traffic
  • Design, create, upload ad content to Google Adwords and all primary digital media platforms. Monitor results using analytics tools and make appropriate adjustments to targeting and segmenting strategies
  • Creating and providing engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts
  • Responding to comments and customer queries in a timely manner
  • Cultivation of leads and sales


Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience
At least two years of related work experience in Social Media marketing
Marketing degree or B.A. in CommunicaitonsCommunications preferred is welcomed but not required with relevant work experience.
A portfolio of work which Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist
Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in social media. (Give links to profiles as examples).
Proficient in content marketing theory and application.
Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing, in all relevant formats including video.
Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound.
Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
Maintains excellent writing and language skills.
Enjoys a working knowledge of the blogging ecosystem relevant to the company’s field.
Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video format.
Is a team player.
Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research and Google Analytics. Highly knowledgeable in the principles of “Search and Social.”
Wordpress experience and strong functional knowledge
Is proficient in design/graphics software including In Design and Photoshop
Additional qualification in web design or animation is a plus
