Job Description

Fort William Historical Park (FWHP) features Fort William, one of the largest living history sites in North America, bringing to life the excitement and drama of the 19th century fur trade, and the state-of-the-art David Thompson Astronomical Observatory, home to one of Central Canada’s largest telescopes. FWHP also offers festivals and events, education programs, wedding and conference facilities, campground, and canoeing and kayaking. FWHP has something everyone can enjoy!

Opportunities Include:

  • Education and Day Camp programming
  • Historical interpretation by costumed staff
  • Historic collections and costuming
  • Sharing Indigenous heritage and culture
  • Site maintenance and housekeeping
  • Visitor admissions and transportation

Do you have any specialty skills or interests, such as:

  • Languages (i.e. French, Anishinaabemowin/Ojibway, German)
  • Drama or public speaking
  • Customer service
  • Indigenous cultural skills
  • Canadian history
  • Science, technology, math, or astronomy
  • Outdoor recreation
  • Certifications in swimming, ORCKA, First Aid, or CPR
  • Working with children
  • Farm animal care Gardening
  • Cash handling
  • Artisan skills (i.e. baking, woodworking, sewing)
  • Play a musical instrument (i.e., fiddle, bagpipes)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months
Part-time hours: 0-36.25 per week

Salary: $15.00-$15.85 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evenings
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
