ROLE STATEMENT

Type of Employment: Contract-6 month contract
 
Summary of Function:
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Web Production Assistant will work with the Web Coordinator and Digital Communications Coordinator in the production and publishing of web content.

DUTIES  
Web Content
  • Assist with content updates and publishing of web pages through the institution’s Content Management System
  • Build and publish online content while following process and meeting timelines
  • Create simple graphics, prepare and size images for digital publishing 
  • Assist with email marketing campaign production as needed.
Work, Health and Safety (WH&S)
  • All staff are required to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of other personnel (including volunteers and interns) who may be affected by their conduct.

Skills & Requirements
Essential Criteria
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma preferably in Digital Production, Digital Media, Web Development, or equivalent work experience required
  • 2 years of working experience in an online publishing environment or digital agency
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office 
  • Experience and knowledge of various Content Management Systems 
  • Knowledge of web standards, up to date on the latest web trends
  • Familiarity with both PC and Mac platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments and tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work with a team and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative work environment
  • Ability to be pro-active and work under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Desirable Criteria
  • Front-end Web Development, Web Design and UX 
  • Experience producing email campaigns and deploying through major email service providers, demonstrable knowledge of CAN-SPAM laws and email best practices
  • Experience with WordFly, Basecamp and Tessitura
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategy and web communications, and understanding of best practices in digital search, email marketing and other digital marketing channels
  • Passion for arts and culture
  • Previous experience or knowledge in the not-for-profit cultural sector.
