Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will support Arts & Crafts marketing efforts and the commercial presentation of the multifaceted music company’s roster of world class artists and releases. The ideal candidate is a motivated, organized, detailed, and passionate music lover, with a creative and energetic approach to the business of music in a fast-paced and inspired environment. 

The job will be based out of our office in downtown Toronto, with the flexibility to accommodate hybrid workplace/work-from-home arrangements. This is an immediate opportunity, with applications being accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of marketing strategies, including contribution to the planning and execution of promotional efforts for Arts & Crafts new releases, catalogue releases & artist roster.
  • Develop and maintain artist- & project-specific media toolkits to be distributed to and utilized by artist teams, international distribution partners, and third party agencies. 
  • Maintain strong collaborative working relations between multiple entities, including artist & management teams, distribution partners, retail partners, third party agencies, and A&C project managers
  • Ensure “release readiness” across the digital supply chain (e.g. editorial pitching, greenlisting, video clearances, metadata, retail links).
  • Assist in identifying and securing music placement and promotion opportunities on a multitude of digital platforms; including playlisting, online media, cultural influencers, advancements in social media.
  • Assist in coordination of third-party publicity, radio, advertising, event promotion, and tour marketing efforts. 
  • Assist in the creation and dissemination of creative marketing assets to drive artist & project promotional efforts to all key partners. 
  • Maintain company’s social media accounts, create platform-specific assets, and contribute to overall strategy.
  • Contribute to graphic design and video editing efforts to create general marketing assets in support of album campaigns.
  • Track promotional results and distribute project updates to key partners throughout project cycles.
  • Collaborate on Direct-to-Consumer marketing initiatives, retail sales strategies, membership incentives, and more.
  • General problem-solving for all aspects of releases including supply chain, digital retail, physical retail, direct-to-consumer sales, merchandising.

 

Key Competencies

  • The ideal applicant is supremely organized, and has a passion for music with experience in the marketing and administration of recorded music in the current marketplace. 
  • A broad knowledge of current music genres and industry trends; a working knowledge of A&C roster is an asset. 
  • 2-3 years experience working with a record label or within the music industry is an asset. 
  • Understanding of current technology, media advancements, and consumer trends; the ability to manage and assess analytics to identify opportunities and build marketing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the digital music landscape; including streaming platforms, social media platforms, digital marketing strategies.
  • Social media savvy with a strong understanding of music marketing on all key platforms; versatility to adapt to rapid advancements in the field.
  • Experience with and understanding of digital video platforms, marketing strategies and opportunities thereupon (including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc).
  • Working knowledge of graphic design applications, including contribution to the creation of in-house marketing assets, including digital ads.
  • Ability to work with initiative in a fast paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities; to manage and work efficiently under multiple deadlines with numerous key partners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of executives, artists, managers, external partners and internal staff; the ability to work in a collaborative role with numerous stakeholders in a passionate and motivated environment.
