Role Overview:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Bookkeeper/Accountant at Concerts in Care Ontario is responsible for full cycle accounting for the organization including: recording income and expenses transactions, processing payments, processing payroll, conducting banking activities, producing various financial reports and regulatory filings, and preparing account reconciliations. The role is expected to require an average of 20 hours per month. This role works in collaboration with both the Executive Director and the Music Coordinator, enabling the organizational mission and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

– Manual Accounts Payable processing, including bi-weekly payments to a large volume of independent music contractors.

– Knowledge of professional music industry contracting practices is helpful.

– Coordinate authorization of payments

– Process payroll and related filings

– Prepare HST filings and remittances

– Prepare monthly and annual financial reports

– Prepare year end file for auditor and handling audit queries

– Revenue accounting is not covered, must cover earned, grants and private sector contributions

– Assist in budgeting process where required

– AR collection responsibilities, and assist in cash flow management where required

– Regular meetings with Executive Director, and other staff as required, to discuss financials

– Organize, manage, and store paper and online financial records

– Other duties related to finances as required
