Requirements:

Art Advisor is responsible for providing professional advice and guidance to clients on the selection and purchase of works of art. Art Advisor should be able to assess potential artwork locations, and create mockups and presentations to convey how the artwork will look in the space.

As the role requires knowledge of the art world, ideally the candidate is someone who has held positions at an art gallery, a museum, an auction house, or another art institution, or has received substantive education about art history and the art market. As well, the candidate should have a can-do attitude, be a self-starter and be able to work well under pressure and anticipate the ongoing needs of the gallery and team.

  • Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  • A working knowledge of and passion for modern and contemporary art.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite and database software.
  • Previous experience working with an art gallery, auction house or museum.
  • Available to work weekends.
  • Minimum 3 years sales experience.
  • Education: DEC, Bachelor’s degree or similar experience.

Pay type: Salary (Based on Experience) + Commission Pay
