Description
Job Title: Social media/ Content/Junior Marketing Coordinator
Overview: Gwartzman’s Art Supplies, a landmark art supply store in Toronto, is seeking a passionate and proactive Junior Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on supporting marketing initiatives, with an emphasis on social media management, content creation, and event coordination. Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Digital Marketing Specialist with a strong focus on social media to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices. This role involves managing and growing multiple large social media profiles, ensuring a consistent, high-quality brand image with every post, and supporting broader marketing initiatives such as affiliate program management and event coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Marketing Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with business goals, emphasizing social media, content creation, and engagement.
Platform Management:
- Manage and oversee digital platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and the company website.
- Help maintain and update social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok) by responding to followers, assisting with content calendar management, and ensuring regular posting.
Engagement and Community Management:
- Actively engage with our customer community across social platforms, including direct messages and influencer/ambassador coordination.
- Monitor social media conversations, respond to inquiries, and engage with customers to build a strong online community.
Content Creation and Curation:
- Design unique posts that meet specific objectives, creating visually appealing digital content that resonates with our audience and promotes brand engagement.
- Assist in photography, video editing, and creating short-form content for social media platforms.
- Curate images, text, and videos to provide value to our followers.
- Aid in the creation of marketing materials and support the brand’s consistent visual style across platforms.
Affiliate Program and Event Coordination:
- Build and manage the affiliate program, ensuring smooth onboarding of affiliates, providing them with the necessary tools (affiliate codes, tracking, etc.), and maintaining communication with affiliates.
- Support the organization of in-person and virtual events, including assisting with logistics, promotions, and content creation.
Data-Driven Decisions:
- Analyze key performance metrics and adjust strategies for optimal performance.
- Regularly report on digital marketing and social media performance metrics.
Collaborations and Networking:
- Identify influencers and brand ambassadors aligned with our values for potential collaborations.
- Establish and nurture relationships with top Instagram photographers and other creators to enhance content quality and reach.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the rest of the marketing team to ensure brand consistency across all digital channels.
Staying Updated:
- Keep abreast of the latest social media and digital marketing updates, trends, and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in social media management or a similar role (1-2 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms, their algorithms, and trends.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Comfortable with video editing and familiarity with tools like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Creative, proactive, and passionate about arts and crafts (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Nice to Have:
- Experience in event coordination, both virtual and in-person.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling tools like Later or Hootsuite.
- Knowledge of affiliate programs and influencer outreach.
- Creative, proactive, and passionate about arts and crafts (preferred)
