Mirvish Productions is a Canadian theatre management and production company, based in Toronto, founded by David Mirvish in 1987. Mirvish Productions is, today, Canada’s largest commercial theatre production company, operating out of four theatres in downtown Toronto. 

POSITION SUMMARY 

Mirvish Productions is seeking a candidate for the role of Front of House Manager. This position reports to the General Manager, overseeing the theatre’s FOH operations and F&B concessions.  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Supervises staff, interviewing and hiring new employees, directing the training and development of staff, providing ongoing performance information, and carrying out disciplinary actions. 
  • Mentors and coaches staff, facilitates smooth operations, resolves problems and ensures optimal performance and morale.
  • Ensures the completion of monthly Health & Safety inspections, attends Health and Safety Committee meetings and identifies issues and takes corrective actions. 
  • Oversees food and beverage ordering, handling, preparation, display and service. 
  • Meets with group organizers to determine service requirements and develop plans for events. 
  • Sets standards for and monitors customer service levels to ensure optimal customer experiences. 
  • Responds to escalated customer issues and provides guidance and direction for staff.
  • Liase with Building Operations and Security to provide a safe environment for both employees and patrons.
  • Completes daily show and sales analysis reports.
  • Prepares client invoices for staff costs and bar or concession costs. 
  • Reviews and processes payroll. 
  • Prepares reports, including show reports, F&B reports, inventory and sales analysis.
  • Reviews the theatre’s Accessibility Standards and look for areas of improvement.  
  • Champions and supports a workplace that values Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism, so that all staff and audience members feel they are treated with fairness, respect and dignity. Looks to identify the barriers and potential opportunities for audiences through improved services. 
Working in a theatre, this position will be required to work evenings, weekends, occasional weekdays and holidays. Candidates for this position will need to have flexible work availability.
