Description
Our team of nearly 60 teachers needs more piano teachers. Piano teachers, while fun and relatable, need also be properly educated and have a strong grasp of music theory. Please note our 2 shift minimum. A weekday shift is approximately 3-9 and a Saturday or Sunday shift is approximately 10-4. Start date is flexible.

EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Piano teachers should possess a minimum of:
- University degree in music (or other professional training)
- Classical teachers benefit from RCM Grade 10 or higher. Modern Piano teachers benefit from post-secondary jazz or pop/rock training
- 2 years of prior experience working at a reputable music school in Canada is a major asset
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Warm and caring
- Encouraging and gentle
- Experience working with younger children
- Infectious outgoing personality
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Additional experience working with children (camps, coaching etc) is an asset
AVAILABILITY
- Applicants must have availability on at least TWO of the following days: Mondays to Fridays (afternoon and evening), Saturdays and Sundays (morning and afternoon only)
- Minimum hours are two shifts but this can grow to a lot more for the right teacher
BONUS
- Preference will be given to applicants who include a cover letter expressing their love for teaching music to young children and indicating their current availability
Pay is dependent on applicant’s experience and education. Standard starting pay ranges from $30 – $36 an hour. Full-time jobs range from 44k-55k. We welcome current university students at the rate of $25 an hour.
