Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Fundraising and Communications Coordinator to join our team starting in June 2025. This role is ideal for someone with a background in arts administration, fundraising and/or marketing for the charitable sector, a self-starter who also thrives in a collaborative and inclusive environment. As a Fundraising and Communications Coordinator, you will help drive our fundraising initiatives while also managing strategies to engage with our community and increase visibility for our mission. The position is flexible with 4 days per week, and there is potential for a permanent, full-time position after the initial contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising:
- Create 4-year fundraising plan in line with our 2024-2029 strategic plan goals.
- Lead in identifying new funding opportunities, particularly multi-year public funds, foundation grants and corporate gifts.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, sponsors, and partners to ensure consistent support.
- Create and manage content for fundraising appeals, donor reports, and stewardship communications.
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives in preparation for our 20th year in 2026-2027
- Working with the Managing Director and Digital Systems Coordinator, track donations and maintain accurate donor data in our new fundraising database.
- Evaluate the success of fundraising efforts and provide recommendations for improvement.
Communications:
- Develop and execute external strategies to increase awareness and engagement and to clarify the values proposition of our services.
- Support the creation of content for newsletters, social media posts, blogs, and other communications materials. Ensure alignment of marketing materials with fundraising plan.
- Support in the production of marketing collateral for events, performances, and fundraising activities.
- Assist in fostering partnerships with external organizations, artists, and community members to expand our reach.

$34.00 — $36.00 per hour
Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years in fundraising within a charitable organization working with operating budgets of $500,000 or more.
- 2+ years experience in marketing and/or communications for an organization or business.
- Demonstrates strong skills in project management and taking initiative.
- Proven communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
- A commitment to inclusivity. Experience working with individuals with disabilities are a plus but not required.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- French language and/or ASL skills are a plus but not required.
- Experience with email marketing platforms and design software are an asset.
