Job Description

The position of Music Teacher requires involves leading groups of up to 15 preschool children and their caregivers in singing and other musical activities. Classes are divided into baby, toddler and young child levels, and all staff teach all curriculum levels.

Instructors follow the Rainbow Songs program, but are encouraged to bring their own ideas and personality to the curriculum. Applicants should be outgoing, animated and comfortable working with children and their parents or caregivers. A strong clear singing voice and a high level of musical competency, particularly with the guitar, is expected of all applicants.

Remuneration
On-the-job training pays $25 per hour for time in the classroom. Training is typically 8-15 weeks. Post-training, pay starts at $50 per hour, with an excellent benefit program available (health insurance and an RRSP match) once a minimum working hour threshold has been reached.

The number of hours per week is flexible. Experienced teachers teach as many as 20 classes per week.

Rainbow Songs also hires out its teaching staff (as availability permits) to entertain at birthday parties and other private events. While this is completely optional, it allows for another source of income beyond Rainbow Songs weekly classes.
