Position: Membership Services Representative
Salary: $21.42/hour
We are currently seeking two full-time (35 hrs/wk) positions. Scheduled time will include days, evenings, and weekends. This is primarily an on-site position with flexibility to work a hybrid on-site/remote model post-probationary period.
Each year, over 230,000 visitors from all over North American will experience outstanding theatre at the Shaw Festival, in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. Membership Service Representatives foster and build relationships with these Shaw visitors and supporters, provide information about the importance of The Shaw and are on the front-line of our fundraising efforts. The Membership Services Team plays a key role is building and sustaining the base of financial support for the Shaw Festival. Job Overview
Membership is the foundation of our donor program here at the Shaw Festival. As the Shaw Festival is a registered charity, Membership Services Representatives will be facilitating outbound phone calls, emails, and onsite opportunities to fundraise, steward and grow our donors in our Membership program. This position will require a passion for theatre, the ability to strike up conversations with strangers, ability to multitask and have meaningful conversations to build and strengthen relationships with our valued donors. Membership representatives should expect most of their workday to be on the telephone facilitating outbound phone calls, and a portion for on-site, face-to-face interaction at our Membership desk, terrace, or donor events.
After successfully completing a 500-hour probationary period, benefits packages are available for both full time and part time employees. Additionally, opportunities will be available to transition to a hybrid work model, allowing the successful candidate to work from the office when required and remotely from home throughout the week.
Membership Services shift can run as early as 9am and as late as 10:30pm, Sunday through Saturday.
Requirements
- Genuine interest in and passion for supporting the Arts is essential to this role.
- Ability to solicit membership and special campaign donations through telecommunications, electronically and in-person, meeting or surpass fundraising targets. Previous outbound call centre experience or fundraising skills are an asset.
- Detail oriented; must be able to track and manage donor communications. Experience with a CRM database, and in particular Tessitura, is an asset.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to support the building of positive patron and donor relationships.
- A strong commitment to customer service.
- Flexibility to interact with donors and patrons in a variety of situations including at our Membership Services Desk, theatre lobbies and lounges, and at Membership Events.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- SMART Serve certified is an asset.
