Salary Range: $53,902-$73,030
Starting Salary: $53,902-$60,000
Toronto Arts Council & Toronto Arts Foundation meet or exceed the standards set by Ontario Living Wage.
Benefits: Medical, dental, prescription drugs and hospital coverage, life and long-term disability insurance, effective three months following the start date. Following the first year the position offers a matching contribution towards a group RRSP of up to 4.5% of salary.
Note: Toronto Arts Council and Foundation are currently piloting a 4-day work week.
Summary
The Senior Coordinator, Philanthropy, reports to the Senior Manager of Development and works closely on the development and fulfillment of philanthropic partnerships and supports fundraising through Toronto Arts Foundation (TAF) events. The Senior Coordinator supports the Foundation’s sponsorship and events-based fundraising program and supports the management of corporate partnerships. The Senior Coordinator leads data entry and record keeping in the database, coordinates gift reconciliation, processes cheques, assists with stewardship, drafts impact reports and supports the Foundation’s fundraising events as required. The Senior Coordinator supports the Senior Manager, Development and Director, Development and Engagement through the booking of meetings, fundraising stewardship events, drafting proposals, and overseeing gift-in-kind relationships and partnerships.
Corporate Partnerships & Events Fundraising
- Coordinate the Foundation’s corporate partnerships and event-based fundraising programs, including supporting TAF’s fundraising committee in its efforts
- Support of the Foundation’s programming for annual gifts, as well as mid-level and major gift levels ($2,500-$25,000)
- Manage gift-in-kind and community partnership fundraising, including third-party fundraising
- Assist in the stewardship of donors, in person, on phone and through email, including ensuring that donors are appropriately recognized across Foundation collateral and at events
- Support leadership team in fundraising, including providing support drafting proposals and writing fundraising applications, gift administration, and in supporting donor recognition
- Support the internal development of a culture of philanthropy by determining opportunities for donor volunteerism and engagement through Foundation and Toronto Arts Council programming
- Coordinate digital and in-person donor gatherings for cultivation and stewardship
- Support the engagement and stewardship of donors onsite at Foundation fundraising events, and support the production of events as required
Fundraising Administration & Support
- Lead in the entry of data, creation of reports, issuing of payment and tax receipts, and printing and mailing thank you letters using the organization’s CRM database.
- Ensure compliance in tracking donor communications via the organization’s CRM database
- Reconcile revenue with finance, and ensure cheques are processed accordingly
- Conduct research on potential prospects and donors, including supporting the Board and Fundraising Committee in their fundraising efforts
- Assist at donor events, including welcoming guests, registration, set-up, and misc. duties.
- Take minutes/notes at fundraising committee meetings for distribution to attendees
- Assist with tasks or special projects as assigned, including fundraising administration duties
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of fundraising experience, with a demonstrated history of success in corporate fundraising, partnerships and/or major gifts, or equivalent fundraising or partnership development experience
- A post-secondary degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working on integrated fundraising campaigns or strategies, with a strong capacity in database management and sponsor fulfilment tracking
- Previous history of stewarding donors or sponsors of all types, including working with donors via events and coordination of donor recognition programs
- Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, including experience working with donor databases and ensuring documentation of donor communications and processes.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working in the arts and culture sector is an asset.
