Work in Culture Launches New Survey on AI Adoption for Operations in Ontario’s Creative Industries

February 11, 2025

Work in Culture has launched a new survey in partnership with Nordicity and AI expert Avery Swartz of Camp Tech to explore how Ontario’s creative industries are using AI tools to support their business operations.

Businesses and organizations in the creative industries (film and television, book and magazine publishing, music, and interactive digital media) are frequently under pressure to accomplish more with limited resources. This survey focuses specifically on the use of AI tools to streamline and improve administration and operational tasks—not for content creation or revenue generation. Can AI tools help alleviate administrative and operational pressures? What are some of the challenges of using AI for administrative and analytical support?

Work in Culture invites anyone who works at or runs their own creative industries business or organization in Ontario, including independent contractors, freelancers, and self-employed people working in the creative industries, to complete the survey and share your thoughts!

By completing this survey, you will help us understand how AI tools are being used for administrative work across Ontario’s creative industries, and identify sector-wide trends, challenges, and opportunities related to AI use for administration and business operations.

Take the survey online here: https://ca1se.voxco.com/S2/114/AI-Adoption/

It should take about 10–15 minutes to complete and submit. The survey is completely confidential, and responses will be reported only in aggregate form. At the end of the survey, you’ll have the option to enter a draw for one of three $25 gift cards to your choice of Balzac’s Coffee, Second Cup, or the Ultimate Dining Card!

The deadline to complete the survey is Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:59 pm ET.

Thank you for taking a bit of time to tell us about the use of administrative AI tools in your creative industry business or organization. We look forward to hearing from you! Please feel free to share this survey link widely with your networks.

Work in Culture thanks Ontario Creates for their support of this research initiative.
