Organization Description

Locksley Project
Cultural organization based out of a dynamic, cultured, well-equipped home office in central Toronto, with interests ranging from contemporary dance to vintage art. A dynamic group where no two days are the same, and nothing’s ever dull.

Job Description

Looking for an adventuresome Bi-Lingual (French and English) Project Manager/PA for a busy professional with a passion for the arts who lives part time in Canada and part time in the South of France.  Based in Toronto, the candidate will assist the principal with all aspects of her busy life including renovating, furnishing, and outfitting a home in Provence.

This is a fantastic opportunity to hone skills you don’t even know you have. You will be contributing to a dynamic group where no two days are the same, and nothing is ever dull.
The working environment is a dynamic, cultured, well-equipped home office in central Toronto.

But just a head’s up…

If you haven’t seen Umbrella’s of Chernbourg, don’t love Simone de Beauvoir, don’t know the difference between chevre and camembert, think Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a perfume, and get buffaloed at a laptop keyboard, please don’t apply.

But, if you love Cistercian Abbeys, can’t decide if Patricia Wells bests Dorie Greenspan, adore the work of Cezanne, can take a computer apart and put it back together,  then you could be our candidate!

(And if you’re smart enough to look all this up, that might work too.)

This is a full time, contract position, for one year with the potential for full employment.  BUT you must be free to travel to France 3-4 times a year for several weeks for the next two years.

Requirements:

Candidates should have:

  • A Master’s Degree in the Arts, or be working on one at least;
  • A flexible schedule. That can mean unique hours or weekends from time to time, and travel for certain;
  • Outstanding time management and admin skills;
  • Amazing tech skills, with no fear of troubleshooting;
  • Happy to work in a team and as a solo act;
  • Three references from past employers, preferably good ones;
  • A full Driver’s Licence;
  • A valid Canadian passport
  • Fluency in French;
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit;
  • The ability to think outside the box, bonus points if you cannot even see a box;
  • A sophisticated, poised presentation but be able to be hands on at a moment’s notice (and we mean hands on!)
  • The ability to think for his or herself
  • And, last but not least, a good sense of humor.

Additional Info:

And if you don’t have the experience, you should have gumption.  And lots of it.
